  1. How do you select the websites that VeriClip scans?

  1. What's the difference between VeriClip and a search engine?
  1. Even the best search engine cannot produce the freshest news, as it takes weeks to 'crawl' the web in search of information, and then return to a particular site again for new information. In contrast, VeriClip scans selected sites on a daily basis.
  1. You claim that VeriClip is an intelligent news clipping service, and that information sent to me becomes optimised to my needs. How so?
  1. One of the strongest features of the VeriClip system is that it notices which stories you click on in your emailed report, and builds up a profile of your interests over a period. It then uses this profile to rank the stories it reports to you in terms of their likely relevance. The stories which appear at the top of the list have the highest ranking.
  1. I already subscribe to a news clipping service. Is VeriClip a replacement business information tool?
  1. A traditional paper-based news clipping service delivers its results after the fact, weekly or in some cases monthly, long after you can use or act on the information. VeriClip delivers news daily, digitally, and when it happens; but more importantly, it reports only on your specific interests. There may be obscure publications of interest to you without an online presence and out of reach of VeriClip's Agents - in which case you could view VeriClip as a clipping service which augments your traditional paper-based service. Interestingly enough, our research indicates that if a story in an 'off-line' publication is newsworthy enough, it will also appear on the sites we monitor.
  1. How do you select the websites that VeriClip scans?
  1. Our editors choose sites on strict criteria. Firstly, they must obviously be pertinent to the interest categories we presently cover. Secondly, the content should be updated on a regular and timely basis, and should be strong editorially. Lastly, we don't just select the best-known sites - there are rich goldmines of relevant information on some little-visited sites.
  1. What if my information needs are not covered under the categories you presently monitor?
  1. We are adding new sites on an ongoing basis. Should you have any suggestions or requests, please email us at editors@vericlip.com.
